Family Weekend Gateway Jan 2014 - Bandung!!

Sorry..I didn't update this blog for quite some times. Well, for your info, I went to Bandung, Indonesia on 9th Jan - 12th Jan 2014. It was a family trip. Although it was only 4days and 3 nights, but we enjoyed Bandung so much!

We departed from Kuala Lumpur on 9th January at 10pm via AirAsia. It took 2 hours and 5minutes from KL to Bandung. We arrived at Husien Sastranegara Airport, Bandung at about 11:00 pm Bandung time ( FYI, Bandung time is 1 hour behind KL time).

Ah..before I forgot, would like to inform you that, we booked for a rental car with a driver to ease our trip. We chose DOM rental car (www.domrentalcar.com). So, once we arrived at Bandung Airport, the driver was there, waiting for us. I had 7 adults (my mom, dad, husband, brother, sister & brother in law) and also 4 kids (my niece, nephew and of course my two lil' heroes!). DOM rental car service provide us 12-seater MPV. It was so comfortable. The driver's name is Andy. He sent us to the hotel. We stayed at Sukajadi Hotel (www.sukajadihotel.com).

Tangkuban Parahu

 We depart from hotel at 8.00 am. Andy brought us to Tangkuban Perahu. Tangkuban Perahu (pronounce: Tangkuban Parahu in local Sundanese dialect) volcano is located 30 km in the north of Bandung. The popular attraction of this mountain is hiking or riding to the edge of the crater, viewing hot water springs and the boiling mud up closely. 

Tangkuban Perahu name has its ancient history. Tangkuban is the word of sundanese which means flipped over and Perahu means ship in English. In the whole term, Tangkuban Perahu means as mountain that has a shape like a flipped over-ship. This mountain shape can be seen from far away.

Kartika Sari Bakery

Bandung is well-known for the cakes and pastry. Kartika Sari is one of them. This bakery located in Dago area. The interior is nice and a good place for family to hang out together. This bakery is nice and clean. My favourite menu here are BANANA BOLEN, filled with chocolate and cheese, also of course Kartika Sari Special Toast, called BAGELEN! So delicious!! Pasarbaru Trade Centre

Pasar Baru is a 7-storey market that houses local resellers of wide range of products ranging from textile, garments, shoes to souvenirs, food and locally produced decor items. Most items are bargainable. Pasar Baru is normally crowded as soon as it opens in the morning until it closes around 5 pm.
